About Nepal

The Federal Democratic Republic of Nepal is the world's most recently country to become a Republic, as it belonged to China and India. The capital is Kathmandu and this is the country's largest metropolitan city. (And also the city which Carmem Sandiego used to hide herself!!!). It is situated in the middle of Himalaia's mountains, so you can imagine how cold is it!
One curious thing is that Nepal is name used by scholars to designate the name Nepa, used to describe a valley in Kathmandu city.
There we can see that's spoken a brand of different languages, but all of them belong to four major groups such as: Indo-Aryan, Tibeto-Burman, Mongolian and "indigenuous languages" isolates. I've heard that many Nepallis use to speak a good English in government and business, so I think we probably won't have problems with the Nepal's diverse linguistic, since we have a tour guide.
The overwhelming in Nepal follow Hinduism. They have the largest Shiva's temple in their country, where hindus from all the world come for pilgrimage!
